The Erie County Clerk’s published land-record fee schedule lists $15 to file a mechanic’s lien and $5 to file its affidavit of service. Check the current schedule and the clerk’s submission instructions before filing.
These are clerk filing charges. They do not include legal preparation, service, delivery, copies, payment processing or a later enforcement action. A private-property lien is filed in the county where the property is located; a public-improvement lien follows a different filing procedure.
Paying the fee does not establish that the lien is valid. Review the claim, property description, deadlines, required service and timely filing of service proofs.
